Emodin Anthraquinones represent a large family of compounds having
diverse biological properties.
Emodin (1, 3, 8-trihydroxy-6-
methylanthraquinone) is a naturally occurring anthraquinone present in
the roots and barks of numerous plants, molds, and lichens, and an
active ingredient of various Chinese herbs
Main Functions
1 - Anti-tumor.
The Emodin has effective restrain to cell proliferation of hepatoma, lung tumor, bladder tumor and so on.
2 - Protecting the Liver.
Emodin protect the liver damage caused by carbon tetrachloride, and has a effective restrain to the Hepatitis B.
3 - Anti-renal fibrosis.
Emodin can restrain the division and proliferation of the HRIF.
It can also result in the cell death by improving the level of C-MYC protein.
4 - Antibiotic Action.
Emodin has the inhibitory action of Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus(S.
aureus) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
