Introduction:

Fluorite ( also called fluorspar) is a halide mineral

composed of calcium fluoride, CaF2 - It is an isometric

mineral with a cubic habit, though octahedral and more

complex isometric forms are not uncommon.

Crystal twinning is common and adds complexity to the

observed crystal habits.

Grade:

Fluorspar is an industrial mineral that is composed of

calcium fluoride ( CaF2) .

There are three main types of commercial fluorspar

concentrate:

( 1) acid grade( acidspar) : which is fine grained and contains

over 97 percent fluorspar.

( 2) ceramic( ceraspar) : which is 85 to 97 percent fluorspar;

( 3) metallurgical ( metspar) : which is over 80 percent

fluorspar and is 10 to 80 mm in size;
