Precipitated calcium carbonate ( PCC) could be applied in PVC plastics (

pipes, profiles, etc.

) , coating, rubber, paper, paint and ink, cable,

chemical additives, artificial plastic track, artificial geostrophic,

etc.

The function and usage of PCC is very broad, it can be used in the

following industries:

( 1) Rubber industry: PCC is one of the earliest filling agents with the largest using amount in rubber industry.

It is used largely in filling rubber, it can increase the volume of products thus saving the expensive natural rubber to reduce the costs.

When filling rubber with PCC many advantages can be obtained like: high tensile strength, wear resistance and tear strength, which are better than pure rubber sulfide; it also has remarkable reinforcing effect in natural rubber and synthetic rubber.

Meanwhile it can adjust the consistency.

( 2) Plastic industry: PCC works as the framework in plastic products, which has a great effect on the dimension stability of them.

It can also increase the hardness, surface gloss and smoothness of products.

If adding calcium carbonate in common plastic products its heat resistance can increase.

Since the whiteness of PCC is above 90% , it can replace the expensive white pigment to play the whitening effect.

( 3) Paint industry: PCC is used largely and working as an indispensable skeleton in paint industry, its usage in thick paint is over 30% ; more than 39% in phenolic fine pattern wrinkles paint of 4- 7% phenolic enamel.

( 4) Waterborne coating industry: Its application in the waterborne coating industry is wider.

It can make the paint not settle, easy to disperse, good gloss and other features.

Its dosage in waterborne coating is 20- 60% .

In addition, PCC plays an important role in paper making industry.

It can guarantee the paper strength and whiteness, its cost is lower.

In cable industry, it has insulated effect.
