Kabkab Dates Fresh Kabkab is one of the most important and abundant date cultivars in Iran which is cultivated in areas such as Khesht, and Komarej in Kazeroon, Dashtestan Borazjan, Khormoj, Behbahan, Jahrom and Tabas.
Behbahan’s Kabkab is very sweet and contain more molasses than Dashtestan’s Kabkabs.
Kabkab grain is in large size and its Kharak is inedible.
The fruit is yellow at the first stage and it turns to dark-brown when the fruit ripens completely.
For Kabkab dates these features can be mentioned: An oval fruit shape with 15 grams weight, semi-arid texture, bright yellow color, high skin thickness, 9.25 flesh ratio to the pit, oval, linear and gray pit, high pit and warhead adhesion to the fruit.
Kharaks ripen in late-August, but harvesting the quite ripe fruit (dates) is in mid-September.
This product is mostly consumed in form of rotabs and dates and considered as non-dry dated.
