STEP-BY-STEP FUEL INJECTOR REPLACEMENT

Before starting the job, check your vehicle’s manual for the specific instructions on how to change fuel injectors and any parts that require removal beforehand.

STEP 1: ACCESS THE FUEL INJECTORS

There are several parts that interfere with injector removal that need to be moved or taken off first.

It can include the air filter box, intake plenum, engine covers, wiring harnesses, and more.

Your vehicle manual will be invaluable at this stage.

STEP 2: DETACH THE FUEL RAIL AND REMOVE INJECTORS

Next, disconnect the fuel rail if required, or unfasten it and move it if that’s possible.

Injectors have a seal that’s a snug fit into the fuel rail, so they may come out with the rail, or the fuel rail may need to be wiggled free from the injectors.

Gently wiggle and pull the affected injector out of its mounting location.

STEP 3: INSPECT AND CLEAN

Check the injector ports for debris and clean if required.

This helps the new injector seal properly and avoids introducing dirt and debris into the engine.

STEP 4: INSTALL NEW INJECTORS

Apply some clean engine oil to lubricate the new fuel injector o-rings, then install them.

Attach the fuel rail afterward.

STEP 5: REASSEMBLE

Re-install and connect any electrical items or parts that you removed during disassembly, ensuring each part is fully seated and secured.
