Voh Vinyl Resin Equivalent To Vroh - China

Characteristice: A low molecular weight copolymer containing

approximately 81 percent vinyl chloride, 4 percent vinyl acetate, and 15

percent hydroxyalkyl acrylate, with the hydroxyl content at 2.0 percent.

VOH has excellent adhesion on paper, polysulfone resin, acrylic resin,

PVC, ABS, PC and the surface of ink.

VOH has good compatibility with

other film-forming material, such as alkyd resins, polyurethane

elastomers, isocyanate resin, melamine resin, urea formaldehyde, epoxy

polymers and so on.

So VOH often used with other film-forming material

in order to improve the coating performance, and enhance paint adhesion,

flexibility, tenacity, hardness and chemical resistance.

Because of the

hydroxyl functional group, VOH can also be used for improving the

characteristics including alkyd, two-component polyurethane, and two-

component epoxy coatings.

Solubility: Ketones is a particularly good

solvent, and esters is the relatively weak solvent.

Chlorinated

hydrocarbons such as dichloroethane and 1, 2 - dichloroethane can be

completely dissolved VOH, and methyl chloroform and tetrachloroethane

can only swell it.

Aromatic hydrocarbons have a good role in the

swelling, generally using with ketone.

VOH vinyl resin can dissolve in

relatively strong solvent/diluent combinations, such as 50 /50

ketone/aromatic hydrocarbon, to produce resin solutions of 25-28 percent

solids.

VOH resin solution viscosity and other characteristics is very

similar to VAD, because of its low molecular weight, with greater

solubility, it can be dissolved with a high level of resin solid

content.

Application: VOH can be used for a wide range of coatings

applications for maintenance, marine and metal finishes, marine anti-

corrosion paint, cans paint, wood and plastic finishes, paper and

leather coatings, PET inks, adhesive for magnetic tape and carbon

ribbon.
