SUKAMY-MED

INTRODUCTION

Starch, a high polymeric carbohydrate is a mixture of two polysaccharide, amylose and amylopectin.

SUKAMY-MED can change the internal structure of starch, which will decrease the starch viscosity, thereby meeting the requirement in papermaking process.

SUKAMY-MED is an Amylum conversion enzyme derived from the submerged fermentation of Bacillus subtilis.

It is mainly used in the pulp and paper making industry.

TECHNICS

The function of SUKAMY-MED is equal to starch modifying agent.

With unique advantages, it is applicable to various kinds of paper pulp.

The surface sizing agent for paper now is usually oxidized starch.

The main disadvantages of traditional method of modifying oxidized-starch such as high cost, difficulties in controlling oxidation degree and environment pollution among others, can be easily conquered by enzyme starch modifying technics.

BENEFITS

The benefits of using SUKAMY-MED for modifying original starch are easier operation technics, lower cost and no pollution.

This product can still have the indicated activity after three months storage under 25℃.

In lower temperature, the activity of the product will last longer.

This product should not be frozen.

CHRACTERISTICS

1 - SUKAMY-MED provides maximal benefit at pH range of 6.0 – 7.0 and at the temperature of 65 – 70℃

2 - The product has an optimum pH of 6.0-6.5 and is deactivated at pH below 5.0 -

SPECIFICATION

SUKAMY-MED is available in liquid preparation as

SUKAMY-MED 2 （with enzyme activity of 2, 000 U/mL）

SUKAMY-MED 4 （with enzyme activity of 4, 000 U/mL）

SUKAMY-MED 8 （with enzyme activity of 8, 000 U/mL）

APPLICATION AND DOSAGE

Add SUKAMY-MED at the rate of 4-8 U/g together with calcium (Ca2+) at a concentration of 60mg/L.

The dosage should be decided through experiments according to the real objective conditions.

PACKAGING

25 kg/plastic drum

Alternative packaging is available upon request for smaller or larger volumes.

STORAGE

Store in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight.

SUKAMY-MED maintains its activity for considerably longer time when stored at lower temperatures (below 25℃).

The product should not be frozen.

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

SUKAMY-MED is non-toxic and biodegradable.

However, unnecessary contact with the product should be avoided.

Long term exposure to protein based products such as SUKAMY-MED may sensitize certain individuals to the product.

Wash hands with warm soapy water after handling.

Keep out of reach of children.
