Colour coated aluminium coils can be divided into polyester (PE) coated aluminium coils, fluorocarbon (PVDF) coated aluminium coils and epoxy coated aluminium coils according to the type of paint applied to the surface.

According to the thickness of the coating, it can be divided into single-coated aluminium coils (4-20 microns); double-coated aluminium coils (25 to 28 microns); and triple-coated aluminium coils (35-38 microns).

Coated aluminium coils (PPAL) are widely used in roofing and covering systems, ceiling systems, curtain wall panels, shutters, gutters, composite panels, cans, appliance panels, embossed aluminium coils etc.

Coil Coating Process

Coil coating is a continuous and highly automated process for coating metal prior to fabrication.

In one continuous process, the top and bottom surfaces of the coil are cleaned, chemically treated, primed, dried and cured, top coated, dried and cured again, rewound and packaged.

Coil coatings offer aesthetically pleasing topcoats, durable surfaces, innovative applications, green benefits and cost savings compared to other substrates and coating options.

Coil coatings consist of liquid coatings in a variety of colours and finishes that can be applied to continuous aluminium strips.

These coatings can be cured and coiled in seconds for delivery to the end user.

The coil coating process not only creates new markets for sheet metal products, but also reduces the environmental impact by minimising paint waste and utilising excess solvents.

Evaporated solvents are incinerated to generate the heat needed for the curing oven, thus preventing waste and pollution.
