Anaerobic Digester Tank - China

The anaerobic digestion (AD) process occurs in several stages, each of which takes place within the tank.

In the first stage, organic waste is introduced into the tank and mixed with water to create a slurry.

The slurry is then heated to a temperature that is conducive to the growth and activity of the microorganisms responsible for breaking down the waste.

As the microorganisms consume the organic matter, they produce biogas, which is composed primarily of methane and carbon dioxide.

The biogas is captured and can be used as a source of renewable energy, either through combustion or conversion to electricity.

In addition to producing biogas, the anaerobic digestion process also produces a nutrient-rich slurry that can be used as fertilizer.

The slurry is removed from the tank and can be spread on agricultural fields, providing a source of nutrients for crops.
