This PhC waveguide mode seems to be higher mode other than the

fundamental mode.

This higher mode excitation mechanism is

still under investigation.

The measured result as indicated by

the transmission is consistent with the simulation the

calculated photonic band structure, except that band gap width

of experiment is narrower than that of simulation.

This may be

due to the nonpenetrating hole effect on this band formation.
