The AST SOV (Automatic Stop Trip Solenoid Valve) HQ16.09Z is a core safety component designed for the 467.5MW coal-fired units of Hirakud Captive Power Plant, operated by Hindalco Industries.

As the final line of defense for steam turbine safety, it integrates seamlessly with the plant’s ETS (Emergency Trip System), triggering rapid oil pressure relief to shut down main and control valves immediately when critical faults occur, thus preventing catastrophic damage to turbine equipment.

Ultra-fast response time ≤50ms, ensuring quick shutdown of steam supply when over-speed (110% rated speed) or other fatal faults are detected

Redundant design compatible with "two-out-of-three" logic, minimizing misoperation and refusal risks in harsh industrial environments

High-pressure resistance (up to 350 bar) and wide temperature adaptability (-20°C to 80°C), suitable for EH oil system of thermal power units

Low internal leakage (≤5 drops/min) and robust cast steel construction, ensuring long-term stable operation with minimal maintenance Applications
