Valves and dampers

Operating parameters:

Temperature of medium up to 550 °C

Sealing up to 99, 9%

Pressure up to 6 kPa

Media:

- raw and purified exhaust gases

- cold and hot air

Main parts of device:

Shaft sealing gland is a sealing cord with

adjustable clamping force.

The type of

sealant is individually adjusted to the

operating conditions of the device in order

to ensure it’s maximum sealing and multi

season durability.

Placing the glands in the

outer walls of the body (frame) of the device

enables the exchange of sealant without

removing the bearings.

Automatic self-aligning shaft slide bearings.

They are high quality trouble-free working

devices.

They have sliding rings made of

carbon and graphite materials or metal-

graphite composites.

Rings cooperate with

chrome surfaces of metal fittings and

sleeves.

They are resistant to dust,

moisture, acidic environment, etc.

The proper

selection of sliding rings material for

device operating conditions ensures long-

lasting proper functioning of bearings and

their smooth start, even after a year of

standstill.

Shafts bearings (positioning and

guiding) are placed on the supports of the

glands.

The supports are welded to the frame

of the damper.

Characteristics of air profile damper wings:

stiffness/optimized low-resistance medium

flow/the lowest shaft pressure forces on

bearings

These features are particularly important in

case of high flowing speed and relative high

medium pressure.

Wing seals are adapted to

the working conditions and to the required

internal sealing of the device.

The following types are used:

1 - Wing-frame Sealing

Shut-off valves and dampers are made of:

- elastic sealing strips for sealing 99, 9%;

- peripheral flat sealant for sealing 99, 5%.

2 - Wing-frame Sealing of valves and dampers

are made of flat bars welded to the frame to

which adjoin wings edges.

3 - Wing-wing sealing is made by so-called

wings edge overlap.

The system of engine wings shafts is made

with fixed shafts connected together with

joints and connectors.

Two automatic joints

with sliding carbon composite inserts are

screwed together with connector named “roman

screw” which gives a high precision of

regulation.

The minimum looseness of internal

joints and tight installation of joints in

the rear bevel drive lever slots provide

precise control of the wing dampers.

If it is

required for health and safety reasons to

shut off the flow of harmful gases, the

dampers can be equipped with the air barrier

system.
