The basic principle of supersonic plasma spraying is to use specially designed spray guns and nozzles to supply higher pressure and large flow of working gas at one or more times, and one or more nozzles to elongate the arc, so that the arc is strongly compressed, so as to obtain a supersonic plasma jet with very high energy density.

The high-efficiency supersonic plasma spraying system is a supersonic plasma spraying system with Chinese characteristics and independent intellectual property rights successfully developed by the Key Laboratory of National Defense Science and Technology of Equipment Remanufacturing Technology of the Army Armored Forces Academy in 2001 (invention patent: 01101077.0, won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2003: J-216-2-05), which is the first in China and the leading in the world, and is an advanced high-end plasma spraying complete set of equipment.

The system adopts the internal powder feeding method to achieve high-efficiency supersonic plasma spraying under the conditions of low power (40~60 kW) and small gas flow (6~10 m3/h), and can prepare a multi-functional series of ceramic, cermet or metal alloy coatings with high temperature resistance, heat insulation, gradient, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and erosion resistance with high temperature resistance, heat insulation, gradient resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and erosion resistance at a low cost, which can be widely used in various fields such as military, aviation, aerospace, textile, machinery, electric power, and biological engineering.

The new LBP-100H plasma spraying equipment developed by the company under the leadership of Professor Wang Haijun of the Armored Forces Academy is a new type of supersonic plasma spraying system, which adopts a mass flow controller and a new generation of optical fiber controlled inverter power supply as the core configuration of the system.
