Business Glossary Design And Technology Webinar By Itxpertpanel - USA

price: contact company for price

Overview: Over the last few decades I've focused on enterprise level

data management implementations.

Those implementations have often had

one similar challenge that we have traced the root cause to 'clarity of

terminology'.

Have you ever heard 'your Customer metrics are all wrong,

That's not the right definition of a customer, we have 4 or 5 different

definitions, and you need to use mine'.

Challenges with aligning the

business understand and IT have lead me to believe strongly in the value

of a Business Glossary.

A Business Glossary can simply be defined as a data management application containing business terms and definitions and used by business people to get their jobs done.

But a Business Glossary is not a static list or dictionary of terminology or word document of business metadata.

It is the tool for exposing authoritative content from across the organization and used to communicate understanding and clarity across the enterprise.

A Business Glossary is critical for many enterprises that are:

Organized geographically introducing global enterprise semantic, or definition differences

Organized around Products or Vertically

Human semantic differences created by the many languages used

Mergers and Acquisitions introduce semantic differences

Acquisition and replacement of enterprise-wide IT applications

This seminar will be helpful for managers and data management professionals that have been challenged with any of the following issues:

Too many acronyms that few understand

Business Intelligence, BPM and KPI ambiguity

Legal and compliance regulations (such as TART)

Enterprise or international projects like CDI/MDM

Conflict and misalignment between Business and IT as related to the understanding of business concepts and often business dimensions

Why should you attend : Organizations of all sizes are challenged in the communications that occur within the organization.

Are the Goals and Objectives of every program well understood across all business units? Are we working in harmony? Is our regulatory reporting accurate? Why did I just get 3 reports from 3 different groups with 3 different totals for the same KPI? Did you make your last business decision with 'trusted information' that gives you 100% confidence in the decision you made?

A Business Glossary can connect workers across the enterprise to critical business information they can trust, helping to eliminate the misunderstandings that cause lost time, lost opportunities and lost revenue.

One study conducted with more than 1, 000 middle managers published the following key findings:

Middle managers spend more than 25 percent of their time searching for information necessary to do their jobs

More than 50 percent of the information they obtain has no value to their original search request

42 percent of respondents said they accidentally use the wrong information at least once a week

53 percent said that less than half of the information they receive is Valuable

59 percent said that as a consequence of poor information distribution, they miss internal company information that might be valuable to their job

36 percent said there is so much information available that it takes a long time to actually find the right piece of data
