The difference between ASTM A302 Grade D & Grade C is the content of Nickel, ASTM A302 Grade D has 0.67-1.03% Nickel for product analysis and 0.7-1.0% Nickel for heat analysis.

In addition to the basic requirements of this specification ASTM A320M, certain supplementary requirements ASTM A302 Grade D are available when additional control, testing, or examination is required to meet end use requirements.
