Bs 708m40 Alloy Steel High Frequency Quenching Process - China

The high-frequency quenching process of BS 708M40 alloy steel is as follows: 1 - Preheating (optional): For large or complex-shaped BS 708M40 alloy steel workpieces, in order to reduce the temperature gradient and deformation risk, preheating can be performed before formal quenching.

The preheating temperature is generally around 300-500℃.

2 - Heating: Turn on the high-frequency power supply to deliver energy to the workpiece.

Use an infrared thermometer to monitor the surface temperature of the workpiece in real time to ensure uniform heating and reach the predetermined temperature.

The quenching heating temperature of this alloy steel is usually 860-890℃.

At the same time, adjust the heating parameters in time according to actual conditions.

3 - Cooling: When the workpiece surface reaches the target temperature, turn off the power supply immediately to stop heating, and use water spraying and other methods to quickly cool the heated area to form a martensitic structure and achieve hardening.

The cooling rate must be strictly controlled to avoid cracks caused by excessive cooling.

4 - Tempering: After quenching, low-temperature tempering is performed to eliminate internal stress, improve toughness and reduce brittleness.

Place the workpiece in a tempering furnace, keep it at 150 - 250℃ for a period of time, and then slowly cool it to room temperature.

It should be noted that there may be slight differences in BS 708M40 alloy steel produced by different manufacturers, and the specific shape, size and technical requirements of the workpiece are also different.

The actual high-frequency quenching process parameters need to be determined through testing and debugging to ensure the quenching quality.
