Grade meaning: 20MnCr5 (German DIN) = 1.7147 (digital code)

20: Carbon content 0.17-0.22% (low carbon, suitable for carburizing)

MnCr5: Mn≈1.1-1.4%, Cr≈1.0-1.3% (synergistically improve hardenability) W-Nr.

1.7147 equivalent grades:

China GB: 20CrMn (close), 20CrMnTi (containing Ti to refine grains)

American ASTM: AISI 5120

Japanese JIS: SMnC420

Classification: Low alloy carburizing steel (surface hardening steel), core toughness + high surface hardness.

Mn+Cr: improve hardenability (diameter ≤50mm can be fully hardened), Cr enhances wear resistance;
