GOST 9KH5VF material is a medium-carbon, high-chromium alloy tool steel conforming to Russian standards, corresponding to AISI A2 and the Chinese national standard Cr5Mo1V.

It contains alloying elements such as W, V, and Cr.

Forging requires strict control of temperature, deformation, and cooling to prevent cracking and coarse microstructure.

Forging Temperature Range (Core Parameters) - **Initial Forging Temperature**: **1080–1120℃** (≤1150℃, to prevent overheating and coarse grains) - **Final Forging Temperature**: **≥850℃** (Strictly prohibited below 800℃, to avoid work hardening and cracking) - **Forging Range**: **1120–850℃** (Approximately 270℃, deformation rhythm needs to be controlled) Preparation Before Forging 1 - Billet Inspection 2 - Heating Specifications (Critical) 3 - Tool Preparation Forging Process 1 - Forging Method - Primarily free forging (shafts, modules); die forging can be used for small batches.

- Steps: Upsetting → Drawing → Forming → Finishing, repeated to ensure forging ratio 2 - Forging Ratio and Deformation Control - **Total Forging Ratio**: ≥3–5** (Ingot ≥5, Rolled Material ≥3), to break carbides and refine grains.

- **Single Deformation Amount**: **15–25%**, to avoid excessive deformation leading to cracking.

3 - Forging Process - Single piece/small batch: **2–3 forgings** - First forging: Upsetting + drawing, ingot breaking, seam closing - Second forging: Forming, controlling final forging temperature ≥850℃ - Third forging (necessary): Finishing, straightening Post-forging Cooling (Key to Crack Prevention) - **Cooling Method**: **Pile cooling/Pit cooling/Furnace cooling**, air cooling and water cooling are strictly prohibited.

Post-forging Heat Treatment (Essential) 1 - Isothermal Annealing (Softening + Homogenization) 2 - Normalizing (Optional, grain refinement)
