Premium T23352 Steel Material Used For Hot Work Plastic Molds - China

T23352 is a high-quality alloy tool steel.

Its corresponding Chinese grade is 4Cr5MoSiV, and it generally corresponds to the Japanese JIS grade SKD6 and the American AISI grade H11 - T23352 is an air-hardening hot-work die steel offering the following significant advantages:

Excellent high-temperature strength and heat resistance: It maintains high strength and hardness at elevated temperatures (up to 600°C) and exhibits strong resistance to deformation.

Good toughness and thermal fatigue resistance: It withstands repeated heating and cooling cycles, minimizes thermal cracking, and resists fracture under high impact loads.

Minimal heat-treatment distortion: It hardens via air quenching from relatively low austenitizing temperatures and shows a low tendency for scale formation during heat treatment.

Resistance to molten metal erosion: It effectively resists erosion caused by molten metals such as aluminum.

Practical applications in the mold and die industry

Although the material possesses good machinability, in industrial practice, it is primarily used for the following hot-work applications:

Aluminum alloy die-casting molds

Hot extrusion dies and piercing mandrels

Hot forging dies (e.g., drop forging hammer dies and press forging dies)

Hot shearing dies Regarding plastic mold applications: T23352 is indeed suitable for certain plastic molds (particularly compression molds operating under high-temperature, high-pressure, and high-load conditions).

However, it is not a general-purpose cold-work plastic mold steel (such as P20 or 718); its application is mainly focused on hot-work plastic molding dies that require specific heat resistance and thermal fatigue performance.
