1.3343 High Speed Steel Made In China – Produced On A 7000-Ton Hydraulic Forging Press When European tool makers specify 1.3343 (the DIN/EN designation for the world-standard W-Mo high speed steel, equal to JIS SKH51, AISI M2 and GB W6Mo5Cr4V2), they are choosing a material whose performance depends heavily on how it is made.

At Songshun, 1.3343 is not traded — it is manufactured in-house, and our production equipment is the reason buyers keep coming back.

Our production line for 1.3343:

- 7000-ton hydraulic forging press: breaks down as-cast structure and refines carbide bands far better than small presses, giving uniform performance across large cross sections.

- Electric slag remelting (ESR) furnace on selected heats: cleaner steel with fewer inclusions for demanding punches and die inserts.

- Full annealing capability in-house: material leaves our plant at HB 255 max, ready for your machining.

- Ultrasonic testing stations: every forged round and block above 50mm is UT scanned for internal soundness.

Why the press tonnage matters for 1.3343:

High speed steel contains hard alloy carbides that resist deformation.

A bigger forging press works the whole section thoroughly, distributing carbides evenly — the key to avoiding chipping and uneven hardness after quenching at 1200–1240°C and triple tempering at 550–580°C (final hardness HRC 63–65).
