ntroduction to Hastelloy C-276 Sheets

Hastelloy C-276 is a high-performance nickel-molybdenum-chromiu m alloy known for its exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in highly aggressive environments.

It is widely used in industries where exposure to extreme temperatures, oxidizing and reducing agents, and acidic conditions are common.

Hastelloy C-276 sheets are ideal for applications requiring high strength, durability, and resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and crevice corrosion.

Chemical Composition & Grades

Hastelloy C-276 is classified under the UNS N10276 standard and conforms to various industry specifications such as ASTM B575 and ASME SB575 - The alloy primarily consists of: Nickel (Ni): 57% min – provides superior corrosion resistance

Molybdenum (Mo): 15-17% – enhances resistance to localized corrosion

Chromium (Cr): 14.5-16.5% – improves oxidation resistance

Iron (Fe): 4-7% – adds structural strength

Cobalt (Co): 2.5% max

Other elements: Tungsten (W), Carbon (C), Silicon (Si), and Manganese (Mn) in controlled amounts Manufacturing Process

Hastelloy C-276 sheets are produced using advanced metallurgical techniques to ensure high-quality performance.

The manufacturing process includes: Melting & Alloying: High-purity raw materials are melted in a vacuum induction furnace.

Hot Rolling & Cold Rolling: The alloy is processed into sheets through a series of hot and cold rolling techniques to achieve the desired thickness and mechanical properties.

Annealing & Heat Treatment: The sheets undergo solution annealing at approximately 1100–1150°C (2012–2102°F), followed by rapid cooling to maintain corrosion resistance.

Surface Finishing & Quality Control: The final sheets are treated with pickling, polishing, or coating to enhance durability and inspected for defects before shipment.
