Basic Guidelines Gb 20crh Steel Cold Rolling Process - China

GB 20CrH steel belongs to the carburizing alloy structural steel of my country's standard (GB/T 5216), and its corresponding international grade is similar to AISI 5120, but there are differences in composition and performance requirements: Cold rolling process

(1) Pretreatment preparation

- Surface cleaning:

- Pickling (hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid solution) to remove hot rolling scale, followed by neutralization and water washing.

- Sandblasting (optional, for high surface requirements).

- Lubricant selection:

- Mineral oil-based lubricant (such as rolling oil + extreme pressure additives) to reduce the friction coefficient of the roll (target ≤0.05).

- Recommended viscosity: 20~30 cSt at 40°C.

(2) Key parameters of cold rolling

| **Tension control** | Entry/exit tension ratio 1: 1.2~1.5 | Prevent strip steel from running or breaking | If further process optimization (such as customized annealing curve or lubricant formulation) is required for GB 20CrH steel, it is recommended to conduct experiments in combination with specific rolling mill models and product specifications.
