Deep Processing Aisi 5130 Steel Plates Cold Rolling Technology - China

The cold rolling process for AISI 5130 steel plates involves further processing hot-rolled steel plates at room temperature to improve their dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and mechanical properties.

Cold Rolling

- Rolling Pass Design: The number of cold rolling passes (usually multiple passes) is determined based on the required thickness of the finished AISI 5130 steel plates and the thickness of the raw material.

The reduction for each pass should be appropriately distributed.

Generally, the reduction can be slightly higher in the initial pass and gradually reduced in subsequent passes to avoid excessive work hardening and cracking of the steel plates.

Intermediate Annealing (if necessary)

- When the total cold rolling reduction is high (usually exceeding 50%), the steel plates will experience a significant decrease in plasticity due to work hardening, making further rolling more likely to cause cracks.

Intermediate annealing is necessary in these situations.

Finishing Rolling

- After multiple rolling passes or intermediate annealing, finishing rolling is performed.

Finish rolling involves a relatively small reduction, primarily to precisely control the final thickness of the steel plate, ensuring dimensional accuracy (thickness deviation can be controlled within a range of ±0.01-0.03 mm), while also further improving the surface finish of AISI 5130 steel plates.

Through this cold rolling process, AISI 5130 steel plates achieve higher dimensional accuracy, superior surface quality, and more uniform mechanical properties, meeting the high-precision steel plate requirements of the automotive and machinery manufacturing industries.
