1 - Carbon vanadium compound, the layer has uniform structure, good continuity and density, uniform thickness, dense structure, high microhardness and high wear resistance, and greatly improved surface hardness, wear resistance and anti-adhesion properties.

2 - The solubility of VC in austenite is higher than its solubility in ferrite.

As the temperature decreases, VC precipitates from ferrite, strengthening the alloy and refining the grains, and the compound layer shows higher hardness.

GB 42CrMo steel plate belongs to high-carbon high-chromium ledeburite steel, with a high carbide content of about 20%, and often unevenly distributed in bands or nets, with serious segregation, and conventional heat treatment is difficult to change the state of carbide segregation, which seriously affects the mechanical properties of steel and the service life of the mold.

The shape and size of carbides also have a great influence on the performance of steel, especially large and sharp carbides, which have a greater cutting effect on the steel matrix and often become the source of fatigue fracture.

For this reason, the raw material rolled steel must be reforged to fully break up the eutectic carbides, making them small and evenly distributed, and the fibrous structure surrounds the cavity or is distributed in an undirected manner, thereby improving the transverse mechanical properties of the steel.
