High Elasticity 50xfa Material Processing And Using Precautions​ - China

50ХФА material (also known as 1.2241 or 1.8159) is a high-carbon chromium-vanadium alloy steel, possessing the dual characteristics of cold work die steel and high-grade spring steel.

Its unique chemical composition and heat treatment adaptability make it important in industrial manufacturing.

Processing and Usage Precautions Processing Adaptability: Annealed hardness ≤220 HBW, 50ХФА material is suitable for conventional machining such as turning and milling; weldability is poor, requiring preheating and post-heat treatment.

Limitations: At high-temperature environments (>300℃), the hardness and tensile strength of 50ХФА material decrease significantly, making it unsuitable for hot work dies.

Process Optimization: Combining surface treatments (such as nitriding) can further improve the wear resistance of 50ХФА material, increasing die life by more than 30%.
