Forged round bars are a common supply form, primarily used to manufacture cold work dies and parts with high wear resistance and low impact.

1.2080 Round Bar Forging Process Specifications 1 - Forging Temperature Range - **Preheating**: Slowly and uniformly heat to **700°C**, hold for thorough heating.

- **Initial Forging Temperature**: **1050~1100°C** - **Final Forging Temperature**: **≥ 900°C** (Forging below this temperature is strictly prohibited) - **Post-Forging Cooling**: **Must be slow cooling** (embedded in a furnace/lime/sand), **air cooling or water cooling is strictly prohibited** to prevent cracking.

**2 - Key Points of Forging Operation** - **Segmented Heating**: Due to poor thermal conductivity, **step-wise heating** (350°C → 750°C → 1050°C) is necessary to avoid excessive temperature differences between the inside and outside.

- **Light Hammer Start**: The material is still relatively hard at high temperatures.

**Initially use light hammers**, and increase the deformation amount after the metal flows.

- **Control Deformation Rate**: The single reduction should not be too large to ensure uniform temperature and prevent local cracking.

- **Timely Reheating**: When the temperature drops to approximately **900°C**, immediately reheat in the furnace.

**3 - Post-Forging Heat Treatment (Annealing)**

**Spheroidizing annealing** must be performed after forging to soften the microstructure, relieve stress, and improve machinability.

** - **Process**: Heating to **850~870°C** → Holding for 3~4 hours → Furnace cooling to **650°C** at **≤25°C/hour** → Air cooling after removal from the furnace.

- **Annealing Hardness**: **220~250 HB** (for easy machining).
