1.7147 steel heat treatment process

Carburizing and quenching (typical process):

Carburizing temperature: 880-980℃ (diffusion depth 0.5-2.0mm)

Quenching: 860℃ oil quenching (surface martensite, core bainite + ferrite)

Tempering: 150-200℃ (stress relief, high hardness retention) Quenching and tempering: used for large-section parts (such as shafts) to achieve a balance of strength and toughness.

IQ steel optimization (Ovako patent): strictly control the size of inclusions ≤5μm, and increase fatigue strength by 30% (significant advantage under multi-axial load).

1.7147 steel advantages:

Hardenability is better than 20Cr (hardness uniformity of the same section is increased by 20%);

Core toughness is higher than 20CrMnTi (suitable for high impact conditions);

Good machinability (annealed state HB≤187, better than high carbon alloy steel).
