DIN X210Cr12 steel (material number 1.2080, corresponding to AISI D3/JIS SKD1) is a high-carbon, high-chromium cold work die steel.

Hot rolling requires strict control of the temperature range and deformation regime to avoid hot brittleness, grain coarsening, and surface corner cracking.

????️ DIN X210Cr12 steel Hot Rolling Process Specification (Stages) | Stage | Temperature Control | Key Operating Points | Risks and Controls | | Heating and Homogenization | Heat to 1050–1080℃, ensuring uniform heating | Segmented preheating to avoid thermal stress; heat preservation calculated based on 25–30 mm/h of cross-section, ensuring a core-to-surface temperature difference ≤30℃ | Overheating leads to grain coarsening; insufficient homogenization leads to uneven local deformation; real-time monitoring with infrared thermography is required.
