Smelting Cns Sup10 Steel Electroslag Remelting Process - China

CNS SUP10 steel is a chrome-vanadium spring steel.

The process typically involves converter smelting, LF+VD, continuous casting of round billets, slow cooling, shot blasting, electroslag remelting, hood cooling, bar rolling, slow cooling, annealing, straightening, grinding, flaw detection, inspection, and submission.

Consumable electrode preparation: The quality of the consumable electrode is crucial to the effectiveness of electroslag remelting.

The electrode surface should be treated to remove the oxide layer.

This can be done by turning and peeling, or by shot blasting.

The chemical composition of the electrode must also meet the requirements for CNS SUP10 steel, with the main components being carbon content of 0.47% to 0.55%, silicon content of 0.15% to 0.35%, and manganese content of 0.65% to 0.95%.

Slag system selection: A quaternary slag system can be used, such as one composed of CaF2, Al2O3, CaO, and MgO, with the dosages being 60kg, 90kg, 40kg, and 10kg, respectively.

Add the slag evenly during the addition process, ensuring the slag is heated to ≥800°C and held at this temperature for 6-7 hours.
