Natural Gamma Ray Spectroscopy Sonde - China

NGS is used to measure the concentration of thorium, uranium and
potassium in the formations.
NGS adopts scintillation detector to detect
natural gamma rays in the formation near the borehole.
The output pulse
amplitude of the detector is proportional to the incident gamma ray
energy.
Five energy windows are set and spectrum stabilizing technique
is used in the design.
The count rates taken from each energy window are
sent to the surface system and processed.
Then the concentration of
uranium, thorium and potassium is calculated.
