1 - DSHD- 2801E Penetrometer is designed and developed as per the

National Standard of People' s Republic of China GB/ T4509 “Test

Methods for Penetration of Asphalt” and T0604 “Asphalt Penetration

Test”in the Industry Standard of People’s Republic of China, JTJ052-

2000 Specification and Test Methods of Bitumen and Bituminous Mixture

for Highway Engineering”.

2 - DSHD- 2801E Penetrometer is applied to determine the penetration of petroleum asphalt, modified asphalt, and the residue of liquid petroleum asphalt or emulsified asphalt after evaporation.

The standard testing condition is described as follows:

3 - DHSD- 2801E Penetrometer can also be used to inspect solid granule, powder, colloid, freezing substance and other materials, as well as cheese, glycine, butter, cream, fermentation, and other food materials.

The instrument has been widely applied to food industry, transportation department, and other industries.

4 - The penetration of asphalt is expressed as the depth that a standard needle of 100 g±0.05 g vertically penetrates into asphalt sample without obvious friction in a constant temperature bath of 25 ℃ ±0.1 ℃ .

The instrument is suitable for evaluating the consistency of asphalt.

The greater the penetration is, the less consistency of the asphalt is and the softer the asphalt is.
