Gantar Dates Gantar dates are also known as Qantar or Ghandi in different areas.
These dates are fine-grained and moist.
This type is one of the most export dates of Khuzestan (Shadegan, Khorramshahr, Abadan, Ahwaz, and Behbahan).
In addition to Khuzestan they are also cultivated in Borazjan, Ahram, Kazeroon and Darab.
They are semi-arid in Haji Abad.
These dates are mostly consumed in rotab and date form.
Gantar can be kept for a long time.
This kind of dates are harvested several times.
For Gantar dates these features can be mentioned: An oval fruit, 9.27 gr weight, soft fruit texture and yellow color, middle skin thickness, flesh to pit ratio is 7.93 - An oval, light brown pit.
Pit and warhead low adhesion to the fruit, in ripening stages it changes from green to yellow and yellow to pale brown in color.
Kharaks ripen in August but harvesting the quite ripe dates is in late-September.
