Mg-doped lithium niobate crystal is not only have excellent
electric and nonlinear optical properties, but also has high
laser damage resistance, good mechanical and chemical
properties, can be through a wide range of wavelengths, the
advantages of easy to grow into large size crystal in quasi
phase matched, optical waveguide, and integrated optical
application field has a unique advantage.

the production cycle polarization wavelength conversion
(PPLN) devices, electro-optic modulator, optical switch,

growth of PPLN mg-doped lithium niobate crystal has good
performance, access to full effect, high optical homogeneity
of the different sizes of mg-doped lithium niobate crystals,
therefore can meet the requirements for low cost high
efficiency to produce high power laser, including high
nonlinear coefficient (LN is 34 PM/V, as a comparison: KTP
is 15 PM/V, LBO at 0.85 PM/V, LT for 26 PM/V); Relatively
large areas of commercial wafer (congruent LN may reach 4
inches, KTP and LBO about 1 inch); Crystal price is
relatively cheap (compared to LT, KTP and LBO much cheaper);
High damage threshold (far higher than the doping of LN and
KTP and LBO and magnesium oxide doped LT is).
