Introduction

YHDAR-8x series radar level sensor is one kind of level measuring instrument which uses FMCW special millimeter wave technology, the working frequency is 76-81GHz.

The signal output has options: 2-wire 4-20mA, 4-wire 4-20mA or RS485 - The max measuring range can reach 120m, and the blind zone of 8cm.

The antenna beam angle is about 3°, the outstanding performance makes it workable for the accurate measurement of liquids, solids and powder materials.

It is widely adopted in industries such as cement, chemicals, mining, petroleum, and water treatment.

Working Principle of 80G FMCW Radar Level Gauge

The Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar transmits signals within the 76–81GHz band.

The returning echo from the material surface is mixed with the transmitted signal.

Using advanced FFT analysis, the difference in frequency is converted to precise distance measurement — unaffected by temperature, pressure, vapor, or dust.

The difference of frequency is proportional to the distance from radar to the reflection surface and get the distance information required through the FFT transform.

Feature

YHDAR-8x is based on the complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor transistor (CMOS) and 5GHz working bandwidth, and it has a higher signal-to-noise ratio and smaller blind zone, higher measurement resolution and accuracy.

With 3°beam angle and shorter wavelength, the interference on the influence of the instrument are smaller.

Bluetooth wireless debugging is optional.
