1 - Carbon is the most basic strengthening element in JIS SNCM439 plate, which improves hardness and strength through solid solution strengthening and the formation of carbides.

2 - Silicon is a solid solution strengthening ferrite, which improves the strength and hardness of steel.

It reduces oxide inclusions in steel and improves toughness.

3 - Manganese improves hardenability, promotes the transformation of pearlite to bainite or martensite, and combines with sulfur (S) to form MnS, reducing hot brittleness.

4 - Nickel significantly improves hardenability and toughness, especially low-temperature toughness (reduces cold brittle transition temperature).

It refines grains and improves fatigue resistance.
