GB GCr15 material is a high-carbon chromium bearing steel with excellent wear resistance, hardenability, and high contact fatigue life.

The following are precision machining techniques for GCr15 material: Machining Process

- Roughing: During roughing, a larger depth of cut and feed rate can be used, but care must be taken to control the cutting speed to avoid excessive heat generation and excessive tool wear.

- Finishing: During finishing, cutting parameters must be strictly controlled, such as using a smaller depth of cut and feed rate, to ensure machining accuracy and surface quality.

Furthermore, the accuracy and stability of the machine tool must be ensured.

For example, spindle runout should be kept within 0.005mm.

- Tool Selection: GCr15 material has high hardness and excellent wear resistance, but tools wear rapidly during machining.

Therefore, it is important to select appropriate tool materials, such as carbide or ceramic tools, and to determine appropriate tool geometry.
