DIN 1.7147 steel post-forging heat treatment

Annealing treatment (recommended process):

Heating temperature: 860~880℃, keep warm for 2~3 hours, cool down to below 500℃ with the furnace.

Purpose: eliminate forging stress, refine grains, reduce hardness (target hardness 180~220 HBW), and improve machinability.

Normalizing treatment (optional process):

Heating temperature: 880~920℃, keep warm for 1~2 hours, air cool to room temperature.

Purpose: refine grains, uniform structure, suitable for forgings with slightly higher hardness requirements (200~250 HBW).
