B00150 steel is actually GCr15, a high-carbon chromium bearing steel with high fatigue strength for the following reasons:

- Good microstructure: After proper heat treatment, B00150 steel develops a uniform martensite structure.

Martensite inherently possesses high strength and hardness.

This uniform structure allows for more even stress distribution under alternating loads, reducing stress concentrations caused by structural inhomogeneities and effectively improving fatigue strength.

- The role of chromium: B00150 steel contains a certain amount of chromium, which dissolves into the matrix, strengthening it.

Chromium also forms complex carbides (Fe, Cr)₃C.

These carbides enhance the steel's hardness and wear resistance.

During fatigue, they help inhibit crack initiation and propagation, contributing to improved fatigue performance.

- Controlled inclusions: For B00150 steel, smaller and fewer inclusions generally result in better fatigue performance.

Current smelting technology is constantly improving, which can better control the inclusions in steel, reduce the stress concentration problem caused by inclusions, and enable the fatigue strength of GCr15 steel to be fully demonstrated.

For example, research shows that under proper control, the fatigue strength of B00150 steel can reach 1103MPa.
