Hardenability performance: JIS SNCM439 steel has a slightly higher hardenability than 40Cr, and the critical quenching diameter in oil can reach 18-33mm.

This means that during oil quenching, JIS SNCM439 steel can obtain a deeper hardened layer for larger parts than 40Cr, so that more uniform structure and mechanical properties can be obtained on large cross-sections.

Mechanical properties: It has high strength, high toughness and good wear resistance, impact energy ≥78J, and can still maintain ≥55J at -20℃, hardness ≤269HB, and can reach 241~341HB after quenching and tempering.

Application field: Due to its high hardenability and good comprehensive mechanical properties, JIS SNCM439 steel is widely used in automobiles, aerospace, heavy machinery and nuclear power equipment.
