ISC A20302 Plate is a Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) steel plate material and is a carbon structural steel.

The following information describes the heat treatment hardness and wear resistance of this material: ## Heat Treatment Hardness

1 - Annealed:

- Hardness: Approximately 130-170 HB

- Microstructure: Ferrite + Pearlite 2 - Normalizing:

- Temperature: 880-920°C

- Hardness: Approximately 160-200 HB ## Wear Resistance

1 - Basic Wear Resistance:

- Wear resistance in the annealed or normalized state is average.

- Hardness and wear resistance are positively correlated.

2 - Methods for Improving Wear Resistance:

- Quenching followed by low-temperature tempering achieves optimal wear resistance.

- Surface hardening (such as high-frequency quenching) further improves surface wear resistance.

- Carburizing significantly improves surface wear resistance (surface hardness can reach 58-62 HRC).
