JIS SUP10 steel cutting Use carbide tools at a recommended cutting speed of 30-50 m/min and a feed rate of 0.1-0.3 mm/r.

Use water-based coolant to minimize tool wear.

The high hardness results in greater cutting resistance; avoid interrupted cutting to prevent chipping.

Forging and Forming Forging temperature: 1000-1200°C for optimal ductility.

The final forging temperature should be controlled at ≥850°C to prevent cracking.

Cold Forming: The cold drawing process requires an intermediate annealing (650-700°C) to restore ductility and reduce the effects of work hardening.

Welding Performance Weldability is poor; use low-hydrogen electrodes, preheat to 250-300°C, and cool slowly to reduce the risk of embrittlement in the heat-affected zone.
