It corresponds to China's GCr15, Germany's 100Cr6, and the United States' 52100 - It is primarily used in the manufacture of high-load, high-speed bearings (such as deep groove ball bearings and tapered roller bearings) and precision machinery components.

Its surface treatment technology aims to improve surface hardness, wear resistance, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance, while reducing the surface friction coefficient to ensure long-term stable operation under complex operating conditions (such as high speed, impact, and humidity).

Carburizing/Carbonitridin g (for "high surface hardness and core toughness")

- **Application scenario**: When JIS SUJ2 bearing steel is subjected to **impact loads** (such as automotive transmission bearings and construction machinery bearings), a hard, wear-resistant surface and a flexible, impact-resistant core are required.

Carburizing or carbonitriding is recommended.

(Conventional SUJ2 is a high-carbon steel, and carburizing requires controlling the carbon potential to avoid excessive surface carbon content that can lead to brittleness.

) **Process Principle**: Carburizing: JIS SUJ2 bearing steel is placed in a carbon-rich medium (such as natural gas or propane) at 850-950°C for several hours, allowing carbon atoms to penetrate the surface, forming a high-carbon layer 0.8-1.2mm thick.

Carbonitriding: Ammonia (NH₃) is added to carburizing to simultaneously infiltrate carbon and nitrogen atoms, forming a "carbonitride layer.

" This achieves higher hardness than simple carburizing, while maintaining a lower treatment temperature (780-850°C) and minimizing workpiece deformation.

**Performance**: Surface hardness reaches HRC 62-65, core hardness reaches HRC 30-45 (while also maintaining toughness); fatigue strength is increased by 20%-30%, and the steel can withstand moderate impact loads.

In summary, the surface treatment technology for JIS SUJ2 bearing steel needs to be selected according to the specific working conditions (load, speed, environment).
