1.2363 steel (internationally recognized grade X100CrMoV5-1 or AISI A2) is an air-hardening cold work die steel, renowned for its high hardenability, excellent wear resistance, and excellent balance of toughness.

Its design falls between high-carbon oil-hardening steels (such as O2) and high-carbon, high-chromium wear-resistant steels (such as D2), balancing wear resistance and crack resistance, making it a highly versatile material in tool manufacturing.
