PP Pickling Tank — Polypropylene Pickling Tanks for Hot Dip Galvanizing

The PP pickling tank is used in the acid pickling stage of the hot dip galvanizing pretreatment process.

Before steel enters the zinc kettle, it passes through a sequence of degreasing, rinsing, pickling, rinsing again, and fluxing.

Pickling removes rust, mill scale, and oxide layers from the steel surface using an acid solution — typically dilute hydrochloric acid (HCl) — so the steel surface is chemically clean enough for the zinc coating to bond properly in the kettle.

Because hydrochloric acid is highly corrosive, the pickling tank itself must be built from acid-resistant materials.

Annuo's PP pickling tanks combine a high-strength steel outer frame with a welded polypropylene (PP) inner lining, giving the tank the structural rigidity needed for large steel fabrications while keeping the acid solution fully isolated from the metal frame.

Built for galvanizing-scale loads: the steel frame provides the structural strength needed to support large tank volumes and heavy structural steel parts, while the thick PP plate resists the acid

Acid never contacts the steel frame: since the steel frame is fully isolated from the acid by the PP liner, the frame itself does not corrode — and because the acid-contact surface is just the PP layer, any leak point is easy to locate and repair without major tank teardown

Chemically inert lining: polypropylene resists hydrochloric, sulfuric, and most other acids used in metal pretreatment, with a typical corrosion rate of less than 0.05mm per year in HCl service — far lower than stainless steel, which is prone to pitting in chloride environments
