UNS G41400 alloy steel is a kind of alloy steel with grade 4140 and carbon C of 33-48 - Heat treatment processability - outstanding quenching and tempering performance Quenching and tempering adaptability:

The critical quenching speed is moderate, UNS G41400 alloy steel can be quenched by oil cooling or air cooling (large cross-section parts require water cooling), the tendency of quenching cracking is low, and deformation is easy to control.

After quenching and tempering treatment (850℃ quenching + 580℃ tempering), a uniform tempered troostite structure can be obtained, which has both high strength (σb≈1050MPa) and good plasticity (δ≥12%), and is suitable for manufacturing parts that bear alternating loads (such as gears and shafts).

Hardenability advantage:

Due to the presence of Cr and Mo alloying elements, the hardenability of UNS G41400 alloy steel is significantly better than that of carbon steel (such as 45 steel).

Parts with a diameter of less than 30mm can be fully hardened, meeting the performance uniformity requirements of large-section components.
