100Cr6 steel offers excellent toughness, good tempering stability, and minimal deformation during heat treatment.

Its carbides are evenly distributed, resisting precipitation of carbide networks and easily eliminated by normalizing.

Normalizing can eliminate both network-like and coarse carbide flakes.

However, its compressive strength and wear resistance are insufficient, and its machinability is poor.

When the steel's surface contains a decarburized layer with a residual carbon content of 0.6%-0.7%, the reduction in carbides increases its sensitivity to overheating.

After normal heating and quenching, the surface hardness can still reach 60-62 HRC, but its flexural strength decreases by 40%-50%.

The grain size in the surface layer reaches grade 7, while that in the core is grade 10 - This 100Cr6 steel exhibits excellent forging properties.

However, due to its susceptibility to decarburization, it requires heating in a neutral or protective atmosphere furnace.

Forging and tempering treatment can produce a fine, tempered bainite structure, simplifying the process and saving time and energy.

It combines excellent machinability with an ideal residual heat treatment structure.

This 100Cr6 steel has a softening temperature of 320°C, boasts better hardenability than chromium steel, and can be oil-hardened to a depth of 40-50mm.

This steel's zero-hold quenching and toughening process eliminates premature failure of thread rolling plates caused by oxidation and decarburization during conventional quenching.

The uneven austenite formation can refine the martensite, resulting in cryptocrystalline martensite or fine acicular martensite after annealing, a structure with excellent strength and toughness.
