Quenching and Tempering Combination

Generally, for EN BS 735A50 steel, the appropriate quenching temperature (typically in the range of 800℃~860℃) and tempering temperature (approximately 180℃~420℃ or higher) can be selected based on the target hardness and toughness to achieve optimal performance matching.

When using medium-high temperature tempering (e.g., 500℃~600℃), the steel can maintain a balance between toughness and strength at high temperatures.

Isothermal Quenching or Surface Quenching

For special EN BS 735A50 steels, or where there is a need to increase surface hardness while retaining internal toughness, surface quenching (such as induction hardening) or isothermal quenching processes can be combined to give the surface of the part higher wear resistance, while the core retains good impact toughness.

This combined method is quite practical for automotive parts or critical nodes in engineering machinery.
